About Us...

The Coopersville Farm Museum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the purpose of honoring farming and rural life.

  Mission Statement

~ Inspiring memories of yesterday ~

~ Serving our community today ~

~ Preserving stories for tomorrow ~

The Coopersville Farm Museum was built in 2001 with the primary purpose to "honor farming and rural life."  While that purpose continues, the Coopersville Farm Museum & Event Center has evolved into what is now a very active part of the community, very similar to the old grange halls in rural towns across America where people have gathered together for many years.

The continually changing exhibits include collections from residents all over West Michigan, tractors on loan by Ed Hanenburg, feed sacks, tools, and barbed wire donated by Corky Pals, and art from many very talented people.  That's just the start!

The Coopersville Farm Museum & Event Center is a representation of the community.  Come on in and take a leisurely stroll down Memory Lane and at the same time, you might discover something new!

Call (616) 997-7000 for information on the Coopersville & Marne Railway!  Ride a vintage train today!

The main events of the Coopersville and Marne Railway operating season are the  EnterTRAINment Excursions. These trains give folks, who would rather have time to visit with their fellow travelers and family members, a chance to enjoy our vintage train ride without costumed characters, loud events or increased ticket prices.  They feature musicians from the Coopersville Farm Museum's Tuesday Night Jams who play guitar and sing railroad and other fun songs.  Get ready for a rousing sing-along to "I've Been Working on the Railroad", "Casey Jones" and "She'll be Comin' 'round the mountain".  The 90-minute round-trip departs from historic, downtown Coopersville on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  During the journey, our friendly Conductor will talk about our hometown Rock 'n Roll Superstar Del Shannon along with local railroad history.  We use the same vintage railroad cars and locomotive as we do on our special theme trains.  Some cars are almost 100 years old!  All have restrooms.  The windows open for a cool breeze as we pass through family-owned farms and fields.  Your light snacks are welcome aboard.

Regularly scheduled exhibits and events draw thousands of visitors to Coopersville every year.  "Quilts & Their Stories" is an exhibit of over 150 quilts held in August and September and our musical Jam Nights are held twice a month year round (just to name a couple of our most popular attractions).
Many of the tractors on display are from the collection of museum founder, Ed Hanenburg. Various makes and models will be found at the museum.  The Minneapolis Moline Comfortractor and John Deere tractors are always on display.  We also feature tractors by Allis-Chalmers, Farmall, and Grand Haven Stamping Co. as well as other farm equipment.
